Uncovering Singapore's Past at the National Museum: A Journey Through History

Situated on the bustling and crowded Orchard Road in the heart of Singapore, the Singapore National Museum is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and those interested in discovering the development of modern, fast-paced Singapore.

Although the site is currently undergoing redevelopment, the National Museum remains open to visitors, with access limited to the first and second floors. History enthusiasts might find it disappointing that they cannot view the recent artifacts and depictions of Singapore's society from World War II to the present. However, the second floor still offers plenty to engage your curiosity.

In contrast to the lively and hectic Orchard Road outside, this location is remarkably tranquil, potentially evoking a sense of nostalgia. The building showcases a Neo-Palladian design, a style evident in various structures across Europe. The most striking feature of this building is the rotunda dome situated at the museum's main entrance. Victorian stained glass panels with floral and griffin motifs let natural light flood through the window, enhancing the building's splendor. Consequently, this is also deemed a worthwhile destination for architecture enthusiasts.

Fact: This is considered one of the haunted place in Singapore!
